Location: Brighton, East Sussex  (remote)
Salary: up to £ 24,000 per annum.

The role aims to ensure consistent and high quality academic delivery across the Bellerbys Global Delivery Partners, acting as the subject matter expert and central point of contact.. 
It is responsible for overseeing the delivery of STEM modules and their centralised assessments. It reviews the success of module delivery after each iteration, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of STEM modules and sharing of best practice.
The role requires matrix working with other teams including, Bellerbys Global Operations and Quality team, the Curriculum Office, external examiners and ISCs exam writers. It will include acting as Chair for the internal verification and moderation, contribute to relevant committees and boards.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Subject Matter Expert for teaching delivery
  • Provide synchronous online training for new delivery partners regarding STEM modules
  • Act as the main liaison for all STEM module-related queries, responding to any queries from tutors delivering the module.
  • Engage with tutors from Delivery Partners to ensure that all are aligned on module expectations and delivery standards, offering training where needed
  • Create materials to support partners in delivering STEM modules
Assessments & Marking
  • Contribute to writing of STEM central assessments, coordinating the production of a bank of questions
  • Quality check assessments and provide assessment design guidance to exam writers
  • Select scripts and lead the standardisation process to support the initial alignment of marking standards to be applied.
  • Oversee and participate in the internal verification/moderation process to ensure that the marking standard established has been implemented throughout the marking of a sample of scripts (including commending good practice and providing feedback to other markers in how they maintained the expected standard, the way the marking criteria has been applied and the detail and appropriateness of feedback provided on scripts).
  • As the representative for STEM modules, attend and contribute to the Module Verification Committee and the Module Assessment Board.  
  • Ensure all material required for External Examiners is collated and in a form which can be securely communicated. This would include gathering the assessment brief/exam paper, marking criteria, samples of marked work, evidence of standardisation and moderation.
Continuous enhancement
  • Review the success of the module delivery, considering the student outcomes and, where possible, student feedback.
  • Suggest enhancements to the Curriculum Office and support the implementation of these on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide regular feedback sessions to parters
  • Incorporate enhancements into teaching materials, assessments ,etc
  • Support the Curriculum Office with module development
General
  • Participate actively as part of the Bellerbys team, identifying areas for development and efficiency and helping to solve day to day problems.
  • Contribute to developing, communicating, enhancing and enacting Bellerbys’ and other Study Group brands’ strategies and processes
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the team’s enhancement plans to achieve annual KPIs, Making a positive contribution to the wider Education and Innovation Directorate in meeting company objectives
  • Participate in own personal development
  • Undertake the administrative tasks pertinent to the role 

ABOUT YOU
  • Degree‑level qualification essential.
  • Teaching qualification desirable
  • Experience working in an educational or academic setting
  • Experience working with international students or in a multicultural environment
  • Familiarity and experience with assessment and moderation processes
  • Experience supporting quality assurance or curriculum development
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including academic staff and external partners
